Define microprocessor and microcomputer with example.

Microprocessor:

A microprocessor is the chip containing some control and logic circuits that is capable of making arithmetic and logical decisions based on input data and produces thecorrespo-nding arithmetic or logical output. The word ‘processor’ is the derivative of the word ‘process’ that means to carry out systematic operations on data. The microprocessor is the heart of any computer, whether it is a desktop machine, a server or a laptop.
A microprocessor is also known as a CPU or central processing unit, which is a complete computational engine that is fabricated on a single chip.8085, 8086, Pentium 4, Celeron, Athion, Dual core, Core 2 Duo are the general examples of CPU.

Microcomputer:
A microcomputer is a complete computer on a smaller scale and is generally a synonym for the more common term, personal computer or PC, a computer designed for an individual. A microcomputer contains a microprocessor a central processing unit on a microchip, memory in the form of read-only-memory and random-access-memory, I/O ports and a bus or system of interconnecting wires, housed in a unit that is usually called a motherboard.
